Polygamy, as we will see from its recognition in early civilizations and primative communities, was typically seen as useful for multiple reasons. While all of them are likely to live in tight communities, dress conservatively and observe polygamy, there are profound variations between them, too. Polygamy, particularly polygyny where one man has a number of wives, presents several potential pitfalls. They could have living arrangements through which multiple adults kind one household, share economic burdens, care for children and share sexual access with each other. A marriage involving three consenting adults, for example, may skate by below "religious freedom." One between two consenting adults and a 14-12 months-old baby would draw the cops if the truth bought out. With a number of adults contributing to the family's financial effectively-being, there's typically the next combined earnings, which can lead to raised financial stability. While polyandry is uncommon, societies that allow each a number of husbands and a number of wives is even rarer. Polygamy means "plural marriage" and contains polyandry, between one woman and a number of men; group marriage, between more than one lady and multiple man; and polygany (with an "n"), between one man and multiple women. |
