Among the allegations was that underneath the guise of providing legitimate therapy, he molested 7 women at his house and at a clinic on the MSU campus. MSU mentioned that it first received a complaint in opposition to Nassar in 2014. A Title IX investigation into the complaint discovered no violation of coverage and Nassar was allowed to proceed treating patients underneath certain agreed-upon restrictions, as stipulated by MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Dean William Strampel. She was accused of falsely telling investigators she didn't know the character of a Title IX complaint against Nassar in 2014. Each felony cost carries a possible sentence of four years in prison. After allegations towards Nassar had been reported by The Indianapolis Star in September 2016, Nassar was fired by Michigan State for violating the 2014 agreement. Because the Indianapolis Star was getting ready to publish its 2016 investigation, the organization issued a statement: "Nothing is extra vital to USA Gymnastics, the Board of Directors and CEO Steve Penny than protecting athletes, which requires sustained vigilance by everybody-coaches, athletes, parents, directors and officials. We are saddened when any athlete has been harmed within the course of his or her gymnastics profession". |
